Fast Access, Fast Language, Fast Friends: A Camp Designed for Adults to Communicate About Things That Really Matter

This article provides information about an experience for adult individuals who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and attend a Camp Courage summer program. The Young Adult AAC Kommunication Kamp (YAAAKK) was developed to allow young adults to interact with peers and new staff in a novel setting and, yet, still have the mentorship and guidance from trained professionals when needed. Data results from the 2008 YAAACK camp are presented in this article.
